Joseph Sax aka Kizito Joseph plays the saxophone. He started playing music way back in 2001 in primary six in a brass band where he played the snaire drums and later learnt how to play trumpet and enohoniums.
In 2004 at the age of 14,he got introduced to the wind instruments in the brass band he was playing and because he was an intelligent young man he was the first one to learn how to play saxophone in his Class and has gone all the way to improve by playing with different musicians and Bands like; Zawuka and Janzi Band where he is enjoying his Saxxophone at the moment.
He learnt his Saxophone from a Dutch music teacher called Petra Wotters and since then Joseph Sax has become one of Uganda’s Saxophone players and looking forward to all challenges in life.
He worked with Janzi Band from 2011 to March 2019 and he contributed a lot to the Band’s sounds.
In 2017, he was nominated in the category of Best Intrumentalist in The Ugandan Music Award. (TUMA Awards).
He is currently working on his maiden album titled “Koona”
In March 2019, Joseph Sax was nominated in the category of Best Instrumentalist in the 37th Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in Jamaica.
In 2019 he got nominated in the annual VIGA Awards
