Kash Goodluck Biography.
Kigozi Shafiq, better known by his stage name Kash Goodluck is a Ugandan recording artist, singer-songwriter. He was born on 25th May 1991 in, Kampala a residential and commercial area of Uganda and raised in Maganjo, Kawempe Division where he lived with his Mom and his elder sister. He later shifted to Kanyanya village where he lived with his Dad and his other siblings, where he studied up to Primary 6. Later after his Grandfather passed away, he got to see his mother again after 7 years, that’s when he joined St Kizito primary school located in Kyankwanzi District in 2003 and he completed his primary 7 education.
During his stay at St Kizito, going to Church was mandatory to every student, he joined the church and school choir as a drummer and at the same time a backup singer.
When he joined Namagabi Senior Secondary School in 2004, Kash Goodluck was very influential in Acting, Singing, Dancing and Drumming. In 2006 he joined Makerere Modern Secondary School in Kikoni where he got himself so much involved into entertainment. In 2007, Kash Goodluck joined Wakiso Muslim School, where he wrote his first ever original composition for his house competitions.
This is where he met colleagues that had interest in music, Exlic, Joe and Web and formed a crew called Elites. He composed a number of songs, and his first record was in 2008 with one of the crew members JOE.
After his Senior 6 in 2010, he joined IUIU where he did half of his Degree in Mass Communication, due to the daily life challenges he went through, Kash Goodluck never managed to graduate, resorted to hustling from scratch. Kash came up with an idea of being a music duo with Joe called the NATIVES and managed to produce a few videos, No Stress, and Oule remix a song originally done by Kasav.
He managed to transfer to Kampala University currently completing his degree, and recording music as a solo artist.
Kash’s music takes on the Afro R&B music style with noticeable influences from Afro beat, Afro dancehall and Afro pop. He is currently signed to Goodluck Muzik, his own music label which he founded in 2015 with a goal of taking his music career to the next level.
His career as a songwriter began in 2013 where he managed to write a couple of songs for artists like; Rema Namakula, Brenda Birungi, Butterfly based in Austria, King Saha and many more….
He started his music career in Kawaala Life studio with his producer Timothy Muwanguzi better known as Pro 314, they both shifted to Secret studios owned by one legend Chosen Isaac where he mastered his writing skills from.
Kash Goodluck moved to Southcyde in 2015 where he worked with Producer Imon as a co-producer and a songwriter, a place where he learnt a few production skills, in 2016 moved to Savcham records Kapeke camp lead by its top artist Nutty Neithan and Aqsam as the official producer.
Kash Goodluck is currently working on his album as a solo artist titled (HURTING) Produced by quite a number of producers, so far five songs are released as per the first half of 2016,
Omwana Oyo (video officially out), Nkulimu nyo, Kabbinkano [follow ma lead], Hurting (The official album cover), and All Over Me.
He has appeared at only 4 shows performing some of these songs, Dr. Jose Chameleon’s “Dance till you drop” 31st January at Casablanca Kololo, Road to success “Music Unveiled” in February at Casablanca Kololo, Road to success “The hype Genesis” at Club Silk in April and at Omwana wabandi live concert of Radio and Weasel at hotel Africana this year.
