lanah sophie was born as Nampala sophie to Hassan wasswa and wife Sarah
She started singing as a young gal at the age of 9years at nsanji primary school ,lanahsophie was given the role of solist to all school choir folk songs
She went for a nursing course after her A level but due to the passion she had for music she took a course in music (VOICE) at Kampala music school shortly after her nursing course .she decided to change from her birth name to her stage name now Lanah sophie
